We are currently looking for an equipment manager for the fall season! It's a great opportunity to learn about the boats that make up our shared fleet and earn some money doing it! Please see the attached job posting for more details. ![]()
While we wait to see the results of the current labour dispute in the public school system, we are planning to host a fall rowing season for the youth rowing community of Victoria. We have plans in place to support a LVISSAA League or a community rowing season if there is not capacity for teachers and schools to support the league.
Sept 1, 2014 will be GVYRS' deadline for deciding which avenue we will take. We are excited to see a fall rowing season in Victoria. Welcome all Rowers and their supporters.
We have posted the draw. Expect some small changes. See you all at the lake.. Welcome to the new 2013 High School season. Registration is in high gear and many schools are raring to go. Securing coaching for all schools has been a challenge this year but we are working through that quickly. Please check out our website often. New information is posted regularly.
Reminders:
Thinking about coaching? Recently graduated and want to give back to the sport you love?
Please join us in the Spracklen Room at the ELK LAKE Boathouse for an information night for new coaching recruits. August 29, 7pm With the withdrawal of the Gorge Rowing and Paddle Club support of the high school season GVYRS will attempt to move the entire high school league to the shores of elk lake. This move has created a large gap in coaching and many schools are without coaching at all requiring head coaches and some need assistants. Looking forward to meeting you there. |
