Volunteers

Our regatta weekends are operated strictly because of volunteers.  We require over 400 volunteers to fill our various positions throughout the three regatta weekends.  Some are skilled positions requiring a pleasure craft operator's card (PCOC)  while others are very simple such as dock marshaling or timing tent operations.  All positions are vital to the safety and fairness for our athletes and regattas will not operate if all positions are not filled.  

Several years ago we implemented a volunteer bond to ensure regattas operated.  We ask each athlete's family to fulfill one 3 hour shift or surrender a $100 bond.  The $100 is used to pay for one paid regatta position on-site (Paramedic) as long as athletes are on the water.
